STEP BY STEP

How to Start Using Retinol

Even younger skin needs time to adjust to Retinol. Start with just a few applications and only increase the frequency when your skin responds well. There's no need to use it every day straight away.

1.

Two Evenings a Week

Choose Monday and Thursday, for example, with rest days in between.Start with just one Retinol product: either the serum or the Night Cream. Don't introduce both at the same time.

2.

Build Up at Your Own Pace

Stick to this frequency while your skin is still adjusting. No redness, dryness or tightness? You can carefully add one extra evening per week.Don't automatically increase how often you use it just because another week has passed.

3.

Listen to Your Skin

Does your skin feel dry or tight? Give it some extra time to recover and use Retinol less frequently. If you experience redness, burning or flaking, pause use until your skin has settled. If irritation persists, seek professional advice.

Routine

Nourish & Protect

Use a gentle cleanser and moisturising skincare.Avoid AHA or BHA exfoliants on the same evening.Always apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 during the day.

And What About Bakuchiol? Bakuchiol generally doesn't require the same gradual introduction.New to the product? Test it on a small area of skin first and follow the recommended usage instructions. If your skin reacts sensitively, reduce how often you use it or take a break.

Stralende huid

"A great product! I have sensitive skin, but the Night Cream feels really comfortable. It spreads easily and feels lovely on my skin. I use it together with the facial oil for extra nourishment. I've been using it for four months now, and my skin is glowing."

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Does liposomal technology make Retinol more effective?

Yes! Liposomes help protect Retinol from degradation caused by light and oxygen and deliver it into the skin in a controlled way. This can improve how well Retinol is tolerated and enhance its effectiveness, potentially leading to faster visible results.

Can I combine Retinol with other skincare ingredients?

Avoid using Retinol at the same time as strong acids or highly concentrated active ingredients, such as Vitamin C, salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and Q10 generally work well alongside Retinol.

Is Retinol suitable for all skin types?

Retinol is suitable for most skin types. However, if you have sensitive skin, we recommend starting with a lower concentration and gradually increasing how often you use it.

When is the best time to use Retinol?

Use Retinol in your evening skincare routine only. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to UV exposure, so it's essential to apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 during the day.

Is Retinol safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

No. Retinol is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Which skin types is Bakuchiol suitable for?

Bakuchiol is suitable for all skin types, from dry and sensitive to oily and blemish-prone skin. It's particularly popular among people with sensitive or reactive skin because it offers skincare benefits while generally being well tolerated.

Is 3% Bakuchiol too strong for daily use?

Our formula contains 3% Bakuchiol and has been developed for daily use. It is designed to deliver visible results while remaining gentle on the skin. However, everyone's skin is different, so we recommend testing your skin's tolerance before introducing it into your daily routine.

Can I combine Bakuchiol with other active ingredients?

Yes. Bakuchiol can generally be combined with active ingredients such as AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin C and niacinamide. If you have sensitive skin, introduce new active ingredients gradually.

Is Bakuchiol suitable for acne-prone skin?

Yes. Bakuchiol has anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce the appearance of blemishes and redness without unnecessarily drying out the skin.

Can I use Bakuchiol during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Bakuchiol is not a Vitamin A derivative. However, there is currently insufficient research into its safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We recommend consulting your healthcare professional before use.

Do I need to introduce Bakuchiol gradually, like Retinol?

Bakuchiol generally doesn't require the same gradual introduction as Retinol. It can usually be used daily, including in the morning. However, if you have sensitive skin, we recommend starting with less frequent applications.

Can I use Bakuchiol during summer or when exposed to sunlight?

Yes! Bakuchiol does not generally increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. However, we always recommend wearing SPF during the day to protect your skin against UV damage and premature skin ageing.
